Propose a Project
Memory War Theater is interested in collaborating with other community organizations and groups. If you have an idea for an interactive theater project, collaboration or a community based arts project we would love to hear from you. We enjoy meeting with community members who have a creative project idea and figuring out a way to bring it to life.
Past community based projects have included:
- Members of the Wing Luke Asian American Museum new dialogues initiative who we assisted to create a photo voice project for their exhibit: Inside/Out: APA Girls and Suicide
- the Mixed Heritage Family Oral History Project at the UW School of Social Work.
- Ribbons to Roots: The Threads That (Un)Bind US -A play and community dialogue about Southeast Asian American identity.
- We have begun conversations with an HIV positive women’s organization based in Canada and are in discussions to create a community based theater project /workshop together.
- We are also in discussions with members of the Asian Pacific Islander community in South Seattle to collaborate with teens and youth in the creation of a community based theater project.
Process for proposing a project
Phase 1: Email us a short summary of the proposed project. Memory War staff will respond with information about whether this type of project fits with our mission and vision and if we have the expertise to carry it out.
Phase 2: Meeting with Memory War program staff to discuss logistics of the project and see how we might be able to work together to build the project and what resources we will need to accomplish the project.
Phase 3: Meeting and connecting with other potential program partners, developing a funding strategy for the project, and commencing program planning.
